Tim Cowen is a writer and performer who lives in Wigtown in Dumfries and Galloway. Banquet of the Beasts was his debut novel and came out in August 2021.

A longstanding campaigner on environment and social justice, Tim's work explores both the power of nature and the nature of political power.

Since Banquet of the Beasts was published, Tim has strengthened his connection to and affinity with the badger, so much so that he is often referred to as 'Badger Man'.
Tim is a member of Scottish Badger's National Advisory Group and also set up and co-ordinates the Galloway branch of Scottish Badgers.

As well as fiction Tim writes poetry, tells stories and has dipped his paws into the world of stand up comedy. He is an active member of Wigtown's long established Unit 3 Poetry Group.

'Badger Man'
A work in Progress
Tim is currently working on 'Badger Man', a performance/theatre piece that explores the connections between the persecution of badgers, and his own ancestor's history of fleeing persecution.
